About the Project

About the Project

The Northeast Renewable Link (NRL), a project proposed by National Grid, will deliver up to 600 megawatts of clean, reliable, and affordable wind power to Massachusetts. Staying within or adjacent to existing transmission corridors, NRL will construct a 23-mile, 345-kilovolt AC (alternating current) transmission line from National Grid’s Alps Substation in Nassau, NY, to Eversource’s Berkshire Substation in Hinsdale, MA. The NRL will help provide a much-needed source of clean energy into the New England energy grid, helping to lower regional energy costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while promoting economic development in New York and Massachusetts.
